There just are no words that will do any of what I’m about to say justice, but I will do my best. When we first met, and also for their engagement session, being around Katie and Ryan was effortless. They’re such a fun, awesome couple, and immediately we just clicked. Their engagement session still remains one of my all time favorites, both because of the photos, and the experience of our time together. On their wedding day, I just kept looking around at everything and saying to myself “these are my people.” Ryan said it best – our meeting was perfectly serendipitous. I’m so incredibly happy that they found me and I was able to be a part of such an incredible day, for two people who are so special, so fun, and so perfect for each other.
So let’s talk about some of those awesome unique touches – Katie’s bridal gown was custom made by Wai-Ching Bridal in Seattle and it’s amazing! I’ve never seen anything like it. It was absolutely gorgeous! Katie and Ryan wrote their own vows for the ceremony, both making us laugh, and both making us a little teary. Ryan’s had me a little more than just teary, there were real tears streaming down my cheeks. It was truly beautiful. They also had a Carl Sagan inspired reading during the ceremony – another moment where I just thought “yep, my people.” One of their processional songs was the Jurassic Park theme song, and they cut their cake with a replica of the sword Sting from Lord of the Rings.
This is a wedding like no other – celebrating a love like no other.
Congratulations Katie and Ryan! You truly are an incredible couple, and I wish you both all of the happiness in the world!
This dress. It’s AMAZING! Just wait until you see it on her. It’s like no other.
These are the shoes that inspired the dress! Katie bought these shoes, sent a photo to the designer, and asked her to make a dress to match! How cool is that?
I absolutely love how each of the bridesmaids wore a different color – and they were all represented in Katie’s gown!
The men looked perfectly dashing.
Ryan had no idea what Katie’s dress was going to look like!
Their vows were so sweet, and so beautiful.
Married!
Love this bridal party! They were a blast!
Such a beautiful couple!
This is when I first called Katie Ryan’s wife. Haha. It’s so weird to hear the first time!
Just gorgeous, Katie!!
Their wedding look is just perfect. The blue suit paired with her custom gown – love.
The toasts by both the maid of honor and best man were both sweet and hilarious. Though, Andrew’s was a bit more like a roast… in the best way possible.
The party was a BLAST! Ryan and Katie put together the music list themselves, and they certainly knew their audience! Every single song was a hit!
Before the night was over I was able to steal them away for just a few more photos – and I’m so glad I was able to, these are some of my favorites of the day!
Katie and Ryan, you guys are awesome and I’m so incredibly happy our paths crossed and I was able to be a part of your day and this important time in your lives! I hope Costa Rica was absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to hear all about it!
